The Importance Of Lobbying

This is something that I feel everyone needs to read, it is The National Climate Assessment.

If we have any hope of ever changing things we need to educate ourselves on what is currently going on in our world. We cannot rely on the media to inform us of everything in an unbiased way. We must take the time to learn for ourselves. We must take the initiative and be proactive in saving our world for ourselves, the animals and future generations to come. We cannot continue to abuse our world and not expect there to be severe consequences. Now is the time to act, no more should have, could have, would have excuses, we need to act now. Our legislation needs to reflect what is in the best interest of all life, not the large corporations who can't see past their pockets. We need to start paying attention. When you hear about a wrong being done, whether it be to animals our planet or our civil liberties, speak up! When that bill is on the floor and being discussed that will be damaging to any of them,we need to be their in full force, speaking out against them.

It is time we all started to realize the interconnected relationship we all share with the animals and the world we live in. The choices we make every day in our lives like what we choose to eat, what we choose to buy, which companies we choose to support and yes what action or inaction we choose to take, effect more than just ourselves. We will not and cannot survive if we don't start to realize this connection and start to make better choices.

I urge you to read over the article on the Climate Science Watch website for a summary as well as the link provided below for the full Climate Assessment and learn about what our past choices have brought us to.

The 3rd National Climate Assessment was released by USGCRP in May 2014, and is considered to be the most comprehensive and authoritative report on climate change and its impacts in the United States.

School House Rock -How a Bill becomes a Law. Don't scoff at it, it's quite informative and really catchy!

"Our life begins to end the moment we remain silent about things that matter."

~Dr. Martin Luthor King Jr

In my opinion, education is the key. By educating ourselves, raising awareness and getting involved in the political process, we are letting our representatives know we are there and willing to fight for what we believe in; protecting the rights of all animals, our civil liberties and the environment.

Animal Testing in the U.S.

"In the U.S. we love our pets. They are part of the family, so it’s tough to consider the possibility of the family dog or cat being used for testing in laboratories. However, the practice is more common than we would like to believe, and has been going on for decades. According to the USDA, more than 1,000,000 dogs, cats, monkeys and other warm-blooded animals are used for testing each year in the United States alone."
